Dosa, dosa, dosa…………

Lets talk dosa……our signature dish. It originates from South India although its exact location remains a matter of debate amongst food historians. It is a popular dish that is widely eaten throughout the Indian subcontinent as a meal, snack or even for breakfast! The Dosa generally consists of a thin pancake that commonly includes a filling and is served with a range of accompaniments. It is no understatement when I say that it can be found in several forms throughout India. In fact, regional names for dosa are known to vary across the subcontinent, from Chakuli dosa in Odhisha (Eastern India) to Susupe dosa in Karanataka (South Western India).

That’s what we love about the dosa…….its versatility and the fact that it tastes great in all its variations. Our aspiration for serving dosa was actually drawn from one of our visits to India where we sampled several different versions. However, the inspiration for our recipes is drawn from our rich cultural heritage. We have re-created the dosa – the Mumbai Mix way- by ensuring every dish is made using our unique recipes and freshly ground masalas. We serve it with a range of freshly made fillings and chutneys. As a taster…our signature dosa consists of a potato and onion filling that is served with a range of homemade chutneys – sweet red pepper chutney, tamarind and date chutney and a fresh coconut and coriander chutney.
