The story
This is the sauce Mum kept to herself for years — the one ingredient in the Mumbai Toastie nobody could quite place.
Made in small batches from roasted red peppers, a little heat, and a recipe she still won't fully share, it's the thing customers asked about more than anything else at the stall.
We're bottling it for the first time, so it can sit in your fridge the way it's always sat in ours.
Ingredients
Red peppers, Tomatoes, Garlic, Red chilli, Cider vinegar, Sugar, Salt.
Made in a kitchen that also handles nuts and dairy.
How Mum Uses It
Mum spreads it thick on toasties, but honestly it goes on everything — eggs, dal, even straight off the spoon when she thinks no one's looking.
Her only rule: let it come to room temperature first. Cold sauce, she says, is wasted sauce.
